From an e-mail from my brother, who is in Europe with the rest of my family now:

"Paris was really cool, too. You would probably like all the art. We went to this one museum called Pompadous or something like that. It had all sorts of bizarre modern art that you would probably like."

The usage of the word "bizarre" really makes that sentence work. It made me laugh.

Reading a quick reference to horchata while hungry made me suddenly start craving it, and I have no idea where to find it around here. An Internet search turned up a place with a dubious-at-best comment on its horchata.
And then more browsing made me really hungry and want to go eat some non-Japanese/American food this weekend in Tokyo. And then i went out to the combini and got lunch. I am convinced the sauce in the miso katsu bento was really hoisin sauce. The end.

Just watched an interview with Brendan from the Lawrence Arms and he said the next Falcon record* will have 3 ska songs. Slapstick~~!

Tonight, I went to my first local Japanese class in the year and a half I've been here. (I have been taking correspondence courses and other things, just so you know I've been making an effort) Only it wasn't much of a class tonight. Some guy from city hall came and talked about earthquake preparation, and then we had a farewell party for two students that are leaving Japan soon. Luckily I knew them already, so it wasn't as awkward as it could have been.

- Just found out I passed the JLPT Level 2. I was not expecting that at all. I truly believed I had failed -- not by a lot, to be honest, but I expected to fail nonetheless. I had already bought a Level 2 prep book to take it again, too.
- I have decided that when the weather gets warmer I'm going to visit every stop on the Yamanote line in one day. There are one-day passes for JR Trains that will keep it affordable, and I've worked it out that if i give myself from 7am-10pm I could spend about 25-30 minutes at each stop.
Obviously I want to document it with pictures, but i want to figure out something else to do at each stop, a gimmick, I guess. I could have a drink at every stop, but that seems a bit fratboy-ish, and I would probably, uh, die. At least I've still got a while to think about it.
